Orbis is a global investment firm, managing around £25 billion of assets. They have been focused on creating long-term value for their institutional clients since 1990 and have just recently made their investment expertise available to UK retail investors via intermediaries. Founded in 1989, they are a privately owned firm with offices across 5 continents with the largest presence in London.

Orbis' investment philosophy is fundamental, long-term and contrarian. They are uniquely structured to encourage bold but considered decisions, even in times of stress, and to deliver meaningful long-term outperformance to investors.

UK investors can now access two of their funds: the Orbis OEIC Global Equity Fund and the Orbis OEIC Global Balanced Fund.

The Orbis OEIC Global Equity Fund is based on the Orbis Global Equity flagship strategy which has been running since 1990 and has around £17bn under management. Its goal is to deliver higher returns than global stock markets over the long term without taking on greater risk of loss. The fund primarily invests in publicly listed companies, which may be located anywhere in the world in any industry.

The Orbis OEIC Global Balanced Fund is based on the Orbis Balanced Fund strategy, first launched in January 2013. The fund is designed for investors who prefer a slightly lower risk fund than the Global Equity Fund. Its goal is to balance income generation, capital growth and risk of loss using a diversified global portfolio. To do this, the fund primarily invests in shares of publicly listed companies and bonds issued by companies and governments located anywhere around the world. It can also indirectly invest in commodities.
